Road tax is a one-time charge and is levied on private vehicles at the time of registration. The state of Gujarat imposes a road tax on all vehicles registered with the state’s Regional Transport Offices. The revenue generated through road tax contributes to the maintenance and development of road connectivity in the state.
Gujarat RTO serves as the administering and regulating authority for overseeing vehicle-related services in the state, including vehicle registration, issuance and renewal of driver’s licenses, granting permits, vehicle fitness certificates, collection of road tax, and controlling
